SAil walk & savour the Amalfi coast

the Amalfi Coast, suspended as it is, between the sea and the sky, seems born from the palette of a painter who wanted to use the hottest and vivid shades of color to create a landscape that would enchant the visitor at the first stroke, surrounding the observer with unique emotions and panoramas and suggestion to make you doubt, for a moment, that the all thing is real.

Amalfi coast Sample itinerary

a week to sail the Amalfi coast and Bay of Napoli

Day 1 Amalfi & Ravello

Start exploring from the hill top town Ravello, that praised by Boccaccio with its postcard landscapes and its noble atmosphere, was a source of inspiration for Richard Wagner who, in the gardens of Villa Rufolo, imagined the magical Gardens of Klingsor. Stroll between Middle Ages, ancient palaces and noble villas and walk down across the Valley of the Ferriere to reach Amalfi, an unreal cluster of white houses, clinging to the rock and connected by covered alleys and stairways; the first of the four Maritime Republics for a long time holding the monopoly of trade with the East now giving the name to the Coast. Admire its Cathedral of Sant’Andrea with its spectacular staircase, the bell tower in Arab-Norman style and the suggestive Cloister of Paradise.

Day 2 Positano & the Path of God

Continue sailing the Amalfi coast and and explore this vertical landscape, a picturesque maze of staircases, streets and alleys that connect the two elements that characterize a unique territory: the mountains and the sea, Positano with the Path of Gods trail.

Day 3 Ischia and Procida

Sail to Procida, of volcanic origin, the smallest island in the Campanian Archipelago, chosen by renowned directors as the ideal setting for several cinematic masterpieces. Its narrow streets and churches, somehow pair the tranquility of the beach, while the town center and the architecture of centuries past with the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo, testify the central role in Procida’s religious and cultural history. Not far is Ischia is the largest of all the Campanian islands; vast and morphologically diverse.

Day 4 & 5 Capri

Two day to explore Capri and hard to believe the many places still virtually unkown to the masses of tourists who visit the island. Enjoy the natural beauty and endless views offered by the belvedere del tuono in heavenly solitude, walk in Anacapri’s hidden path leading to breathtaking views of Capri’s Faraglioni. Enjoy lunch at Gelsomina restaurant, hike the Monte solaro or walk down to the Punta Carena lighthouse.
